Pink Shirt Day

Each year in February, Boys & Girls Club promotes Pink Shirt Day throughout Greater Victoria. In just four years Pink Shirt Day, a public awareness campaign about bullying, has grown into a national craze. Pink Shirt Day 2012 will be February 29th! Wild About Whales Derby

Date: Saturday June 9th, 2012
Location: Esquimalt Gorge Park, 1070 Tillicum Rd. Esquimalt V9A 4J2

Join us on June 9th for our second annual event! This free, family event  combines childrens games and actvities with a rubber duck derby (with a twist). Sponsorship opportunities are available! Contact Kate Mansell, Director of Development, at 250-384-9133 ex. 115 or by email to find out more.

Our 2011 Wild About Whales Event raised close to $21,000 to support our afterschool programs in Greater Victoria. A huge thank you to all of our sponsors, the organizing committee and the event volunteers for their contribution to the success of this event. Glow Snow Ball

Join us for a festive event aimed at kids ages 10 - 13 featuring glow in the dark fun, plus a live DJ and dancing. This event is at Oaklands Community Centre but you can register at any Boys & Girls Club. See this event on Facebook

Community Craft Fair

Come and support local artisans in the community and check out the silent auction. Stay for the Bayside Winter Concert at 7:00 pm. Craft tables still available for those interested in selling your crafts - only $10, with all proceeds going to support youth programs. Contact Michelle Willis at 250-652-1135 ext. 208.

Stepparenting Workshop

Monster Bash 2.0

Attention Boys and Ghouls! If you are 9 - 13 years old, head down to the James Bay Community Centre on October 28th for the ultimate halloween party! Activities will include an obstacle course, sumo wrestle, torture wheel, eyeball bounce, and of course, a costume comp. All to live beats from the resident DJ. Raise a Reader

Boys & Girls Clubs supported Raise a Reader Day  on September 28, 2011, Volunteers and staff handed out the Times Colonist downtown from 7 am. In addition, all staff and participants stopped what they were doing at 3:10 pm to focus on reading books, newspapers, magazines or even web articles. Millstream Club is conitnuing to focus on literacy through their 'Search for Treasure, Read for Pleasure' initative. Literacy and numeracy programs are already running at our Harbourside Club. Pedal for Kids

Canadian Tire Foundation for Families launched their Pedal for Kids campaign on Tuesday, September 21st at Harbourside Boys & Girls Clubs. Jumpstart provides significant funding to Boys & Girls Club's participants. We wish them all the best for this fundraising campaign. Follow the riders' progress on their blog.

The Office Open

The Office Open took place on July 28th at The Office Lounge & Restaurant and Highland Pacific Golf Course. This event raised $7,000 to benefit Boys & Girls Club's after school programs. We are very grateful to Shelbey and everyone else who made this event so successful. Check out the feature on SNAP and in the Saanich News.

Annual General Meeting

Our Annual General Meeting 2011 was held on Tuesday, June 21st at the Delta Ocean Pointe Hotel in Victoria, BC. Many thanks to our speakers, guests, staff members and Board of Directors for an inspiring meeting. Check out the Annual Report.
