50th Anniversary

Boys & Girls Club Services of Greater Victoria is proud to be celebrating a special anniversary this year – 50 years of providing programs and services to the children, youth and families of Greater Victoria. To commemorate this important anniversary we're planning a number of events and activities throughout the year and we're hoping you'll join in the celebrations!

Events

• May 1st - Boat Derby (one of our summer camp favourites where kids construct boats from cardboard, plastic and tape!) in conjunction with Victoria Parks and Recreation as part of Youth Week.
• June 1st - Official Opening Ceremony of the Metchosin Camp and recognition of donors to the Create a Ripple campaign.
• June (TBD) - expanded AGM with workshops and speakers as well as recognition of some key people in the Boys & Girls Club 'family'.
• August 8th - Family Day at Metchosin Camp - an old fashioned picnic complete with 3 legged races and pie eating contests.
• Late Fall - a Concert is being planned to wrap up the year of celebrations – details still being confirmed.

We want to hear from anyone who has had a connection with us – past participants, club members, staff, board members, volunteers – anyone in our extended family. We would also like to hear from Victoria residents who may have been involved in other Boys & Girls Clubs in Canada or the US. Please get in touch so we can add you to our invitation lists. There is never a dull day at Boys & Girls Clubs Services of Greater Victoria! On average there are over 15 programs and services running each day of the week across six facilities. In addition, there are community events, fundraising events, workshops, meetings and celebrations happening throughout the year.
