The
Care Home Parenting Program provides housing, life skills training,
support and counselling for young women approximately 16-21 years
of age, who are pregnant. Through
supported independent living in a stable and caring environment, the
young moms can acquire the skills needed to reach their potential
as independent women and skilled parents.
PROGRAM INFORMATION:
The program offers six
Care Homes suites and four Outreach (non-housing) resources. Care
Home services are available until the baby is approximately six months
old. All participants will be assigned a key worker for individual
support and will meet with other program participants on a regular
basis for peer support, life skills courses, and parenting workshops.
For women who are receiving Income Assistance, the fee for the program
is $570 per month. For women who are working or not receiving Income
Assistance, there is a modest sliding scale.
