  Parents Together

PROGRAM NAME: Parents Together

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Are you looking for ways to strengthen your relationship with your teen, and at the same time, honour their growth towards adulthood? Parents Together groups offer support, information and skill development for parents of teens. Our program is well established, serving BC parents for over 20 years, and is constantly evolving to support the needs of contemporary parents. The program offers support and encouragement from other parents who really understand. Parents are expected to respect the confidentiality of other participants.

PROGRAM INFORMATION:
  • Parents Together groups meet weekly in two locations: Esquimalt and West Shore in the evening.
  • Groups follow a structured meeting plan which includes discussing ideas and planning for change. The emphasis is on sharing, supporting and problem solving.
  • Groups do not criticize or judge. Parents Together will offer you a new way to look at your situation, teach you new skills to solve problems at your own rate, and offer you support and encouragement to follow through on your plans for change.
  • Parents Together is based on the concepts developed by Dr’s Robert and Jean Bayard in their book “How to Deal with your Acting Up Teenager”. The book may be purchased from your local bookseller or through the Boys & Girls Club Services of Greater Victoria.
  • Meetings run from 12-14 weeks and parents are welcome to participate longer in Parents Together until they feel satisfied their needs have been met.

IS PARENTS TOGETHER RIGHT FOR YOU...
  • Do you sometimes or frequently feel discouraged in your parenting of your teen?
